USDA Agricultural, Farm and Rural Small Business REAP Grants for up to 25 percent and Loans of 25 percent of project costs with a minimum of $2,500 and maximum of $250,000 for energy improvements and maximum of $500,000 for renewable projects are now available. JBS Solar and Wind have on staff certified Wind, Solar and Solar Thermal Site Assessors in addition to a certified energy auditor. The Federal Grant writing is done through our office with a qualified subcontractor making the process very streamlined.
Who & What Projects Are Eligible? Farmers, ranchers, irrigators and rural businesses (communities of less than 50,000 population). Eligible projects may include:
Renewable Energy Systems providing energy loans for wind, solar electric, solar thermal, biomass, biogas, or geothermal source or hydrogen derived from biomass or water using wind, solar, or geothermal energy sources.
Energy Efficiency Improvements to the business (HVAC systems, insulation, refrigeration, lighting, irrigation systems, pumping systems, air systems, motor systems, etc.)

Agricultural users should note that applications for this years USDA 9006 (REAP) renewable energy grant 9006GRANT are now being prepared. Please contact Gayle at 609-884-7373 or your nearest USDA center CENTERS for the 2009 Fiscal year grant program. It should be noted that the grant writing and financials required for the program, take on the average, 4 to 6 weeks to prepare for package submission. It is never to early to prepare.
