Energy Sensible Living for a Brighter Future

Why an Energy Star Modular?

Modular Built Homes utilize improved methods of home construction when compared to standard conventional site built homes. This allows for an energy efficient state of the art built home ENERGY STAR . Green is in and here to stay, and a few wise modular vendors realize this. With in house auto cad, we can design for you, a state of the art energy efficient home with up to a zero carbon footprint. We can incorporate into your home passive solar designs, energy star interior lighting, solar thermal potable water and radiant heat, and the list goes on.

Our homes, built by leading Modular Manufacturers, are built indoors in a climate controlled environment. Indoor construction provides strict quality control, attention to detail, that is sometimes not attainable with standard site-built homes. Lumber and other building materials are not exposed to the weather so warping and size variations are minimal. The indoor temperature-controlled environment eliminates weather extremes that effect site-built homes.

Would You Have Your Car Built in Your
Driveway?

There is a reason your car manufacturer didn’t build your vehicle in your driveway! When you think about it, a Modular just makes sense.

The homes are built in a proper sequence of events, with all trades working together in harmony. By building indoors a manufacturer is not tied to outdoor weather conditions, on site inspections, and other delays common to on site construction. Modulars homes are usually built in a shorter time. There are many advantages to having all of the trades working together at the same time. They never have to wait on contractors to arrive at the job site, because they are onsite all of the time. Timely inspections are made to insure the home conforms to all required building codes.

Precision details are engineered into their construction system. Every opening through the ceiling for wiring, pipes, vents and flues are sealed with polyurethane foam. Windows and doors are insulated between the framed openings and jamb. In addition, the vent space in between the soffit vents and the attic are ducted with a special baffle to allow air movement, yet provide insulation above the exterior walls. The exterior wall sheathing becomes an air barrier around the home from the bottom of the floor joists to the top of the walls. Available as an option, rigid foam insulation can be installed over the sheathing to further add to the energy efficiency of the home.

Most of our homes are built to ENERGY STAR specifications.

Do Modular Homes vary from
Stick Built?

They look like any other home. They come in many styles and can vary in size from less than 1000 to over 6ooo square feet in size and more. You probably have a Modular home in your neighborhood and not even realize it. When you add up the labor, material and time savings inherent in Modular Built Homes, you generally find them cheaper to build than conventional building. In addition you should keep saving year after year, as your energy efficient home keeps your heating and cooling bills low. Couple this with the fact that modulars typically have more framing lumber in them, and are usually more structurally sound than a site built home. It's no wonder you can feel safe in a decision on a modular home.

There are many reasons to go Modular; time saved, methods of construction, consistencies in product are just to name a few. We would be glad to discuss with you whether or not  your project is a candidate for Modular construction.
