on Dealer/Installers and Turbines
Dealer/Installers of wind turbines are popping up out of the wood work. As a potential turbine owner, you should ask a prospective dealer for a list of their installs, type of wind turbines they have installed, their affiliations, and most important how much of the work they do themselves. We ourselves are finding out that those with all kinds of paper credentials have little if no real construction experience, and typically sub out almost all of their work. Usually to low bid contractors, in most cases with little or no experience installing wind turbines.
JBS Solar and Wind is a full time renewable energy company, with a staff that has exhaustive class room training, and thousands of hours of in the field construction experience. We use our own equipment and our own men. Our men are OSHA 30 hour Certified, full time installer/tower climbers and are members of NATE and SC&RA. That means we adhere to strict installation compliance procedures and industry accepted practices.
Turbines as we know it have 227 Small Wind Turbines (less than 100KW) available from 96 manufacturers indexed; 37 Vertical Axis Wind Turbines and 190 Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines, and this list is growing. This is in addition to 50 or more large wind turbines currently on the market. With these many turbines on the market, one really has to be committed to keeping abreast of fact and fiction. There are many legitimate turbines being manufactured and an inordinate number of here today gone tomorrow. We represent companies that we believe have proven technology, are well built, and will be around tomorrow. Parts are readily available if need be and all of our turbines have been accepted by CEC, NYSERDA, and the NJ Core and REIP rebate programs. That means they work!
